M.S. in Biohazardous Threat Agents & Emerging Infectious Diseases

Mehrnaz

Jonique Bentley Taylor
B.S. in Biology (minor in Chemistry)
Xavier University of Louisiana

After graduating from Xavier University, I contemplated what career goals I wanted to achieve. I was in search of a master's program that would focus in on the specific targets that I wanted to address as a future health care professional. I considered that the past few years have been an eye-opening experience in the country's vulnerability to biological attacks. Through months of research I discovered the newly introduced program of Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases at Georgetown University. The history and reputation of Georgetown led me to believe that a newly introduced program of such caliber would be a great launch pad for success. The program focuses on linking the first responder's community with academia and law enforcement; thereby, increasing the knowledge base of proper response. Currently, I am enjoying every class and looking for to the next semester were we become more involved through internships. The faculty at Georgetown is not only supportive but also extremely exited to bring this new area of studies to the forefront. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in making a difference.
