M.S. in Biomedical Science Policy & Advocacy

Laura Chamberlain

Shanika T. Whitehurst, 2004
B.S. in Environmental Science
University of Delaware

This program in Science Policy will open up so many opportunities for you in the future.  This is uncharted territory and will put you in the position to fill the void of scientifically trained individuals who can translate their experience into policy.

*After graduation, Shanika accepted a position at IPA Global, a consulting firm providing quantitative analysis of capital project effectiveness worldwide.

Erik J. Stemmy, 2005
B.S. in Biology
Dickinson College

The biggest strength of the specialized M.S. is its versatility.  I've found that the students are encouraged to tailor the program to their specific career goals; to expand their science education, while taking policy classes in which they are interested.  This unique quality was especially attractive to me as few graduate programs exist in the field of science writing.  On the whole, this program offers an excellent selection of courses, from a wide range of departments, which should appeal to any student interested in the intermingling of science and policy.

*Eric is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Biochemistry at the University of Maryland.
