Summer Orientation 2008: About
Summer Orientation is primarily for biomedical Ph.D. students who will commence their graduate program with a summer laboratory research rotation in early July.
Attendance at the general orientation program and the accompanying laboratory safety classes is considered mandatory for all biomedical Ph.D. students.
Summer Orientation 2008 begins Tuesday, July 1 with:
General Orientation
10:30 am - 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 1

During the General Orientation Program you will have the opportunity to hear presentations from various representatives of key divisions here at GU, covering topics of importance and interest for new student members of the GU community. There will be opportunity for questions and answers throughout the course of the General Orientation Program.
Lunch Reception
12:00 noon - 1:30 pm, Tuesday, July 1

Following the General Orientation Program, there will be an informal lunch reception hosted by the Office of Biomedical Graduate Education and the MCGSO. This will provide an opportunity to mingle with current graduate biomedical students, as well as faculty and staff of the various departments and programs.

The John Vinton Dahlgren Memorial Library at GU offers a variety of services and resources to help you find medical information. Classes are offered on databases, software, and the Internet. This orientation will introduce you to the various services available from this valuable GUMC resource.
